MY STORY
Writing a concise summary of my work experience is difficult, I did not always take pride in my jack-of-all-trades status.
Growing up I was encouraged to specialise but I had to accept that my brain just does not work in that way. I pursued art and literature, which led to teaching, then a pivot into culture with a detour via NGO work and market research for public and private equity.
The common denominator in every career move was storytelling; I love a good story (who doesn’t?) and look for them in everything. It’s why I love curating, I get to help artists verbalise the reason they create and along the way I can make it a fun read for their audience.
EXPERTISE
Art Curator since September 2018
I work with artists on inclusive projects that explore the intersections of art and education. Through collaboration, research and writing my aim is to interact with an audience that may often be and/or feel marginalised and create opportunities for them to reclaim the art world.
Strategy Research Consultant since March 2020
I collaborate on strategy consulting projects (market sizing, commercial due diligence, competitive landscape), including qualitative and quantitative analysis and expert interviews for industry and equity clients. Companies I have worked with include Bain & Co, PwC, CIL, Freshminds and Third Bridge.
Market research and expert interviews
Over the past 4 years I have had the opportunity to interview hundreds of industry and subject matter experts. Each encounter was a deep dive into a niche field of the commercial, industrial or tech sectors.
Reporting on peace building initiatives
During my time in the NGO sector I conducted and transcribed interviews with local organisation leaders and founders focused on the progress of their work in peace building to be featured in impact reports.
A case study of multilingual education in Montessori schools in Sri Lanka
For my MA from King’s College I interviewed Montessori headmistresses and teachers on their teaching practices for reading and writing in English, Sinhala and Tamil.
Mental health workers in the United States:
A case study of professionals in the Washington D.C. Area
I wrote about this topic for the completion of my Master's degree at La Sorbonne. During my field research I conducted in-depth interviews with 10 experts in the mental health care sector, including licensed therapists, social workers, psychiatrists and advocates.
